Stretching at the wrong time decreases strength and power!

Most people think that is best to stretch before you exercise or do any physical activities. Studies have recently shown that this is not the case and it actually puts you at more risk for injury! This is because static stretching impairs motor performance around the joints it is done on. Static stretching for only 5 minutes before exercise has been show to reduce peak muscle tension for up to 2 hours post stretch.
