Vancouver Personal Trainer Fitness for the Road

With summer in full swing a lot of people are hitting the road and enjoying the beautiful weather. Unfortunately, just because you are enjoying some time on the beach or visiting with family, it doesn’t mean you should be neglecting your body. Taking a week or two off of working out isn’t going to hurt fitness levels too much but repeated or prolonged breaks can make it very hard to return to your former fit self. Here are some tips from your Vancouver Fitness Trainers on how to stay fit this summer while away from home.

Keep running! If your a runner you don’t have to stop just because your in a different time zone. Running in unique environments may be just what you need to keep your fitness at a top notch level. You can also take the opportunity to do some cross training in the swimming pool.

If your a weightlifter then just keep on lifting. Use the gym in the hotel or buy a short term membership at a local gym. Bringing along a few resistance bands is probably a good idea as well. Even if you have no access to equipment there are a lot of body weight exercises that can be done to help you from loosing all that hard earned progress.

If you eat smart, don’t get dumb. It’s nice to relax your diet while traveling or vacationing… but remember the impact that alcohol alone has on your fitness and health. Take our Nutritionist Janine’s advise… everything in moderation. So if you head out for some drinks, eat smart. If you’re not having a beer, then go for the desert, just don’t forget your push ups.

Don’t let your fitness fall apart, take your Vancouver Personal Trainer Fitness for the Road!
